RusNano, British partners to setup pharma project in Russia

Russian Corporation of Nanotechnologies (RusNano), a non-profit state owned corporation, is set to take part in a $900m pharmaceutical project with UK partners, according to Anatoly Chubais, CEO of the company.

Non-silicon electronics, light emitting diodes and pharmaceuticals are said to be the promising areas for bilateral cooperation, FOCUS News Agency reported.

The agency quoted Chubais as saying that they will create something serious in the area of organic light emitting diodes.

"Another interesting sphere is innovative pharmaceuticals. We are considering a project worth $900m. This will be the largest project in Russia’s pharmaceutical business," Chubais said.

RusNano was created in 2007 with an aim to commercialise developments in nanotechnology.

All Rusnano projects can be grouped into six clusters: solar energy and energy saving, nanostructured materials, medicine and biotech, mechanical engineering and metal working, optoelectronics and nanoelectronics, and infrastructure projects.
