COMS Interactive inks deal to incorporate INTERACT program into Daylight IQ

Clinical Outcomes Management Systems (COMS Interactive) has executed a license agreement with Florida Atlantic University (FAU) to automate the process of populating the INTERACT 4.0 document toolset with the rich clinical data collected through the Daylight IQ software and clinical guidance.

The systems are synergistic, complementary and work well together.

Daylight IQ will now pre-populate select INTERACT forms based on existing nursing documentation. This exchange of data positively impacts nursing workflow and daily activities, allowing for early detection of changes in condition and creating a proactive approach to resident care.

"The INTERACT program must be executed by a trained project champion who will assist facility staff in using the tools on a daily basis. The tools have been designed to be used in everyday practice and help staff improve care, but not increase unnecessary paperwork," states Joseph G. Ouslander, MD, creator of the INTERACT program and Professor in the FAU Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine.

"Disease management is a growing concern as reducing rates of unnecessary emergency department visits, hospital admissions, and readmission has become a real priority. COMS’ incorporation of the INTERACT program will provide caregivers with information right when they need it, efficiently altering team workflow and ultimately improving the quality of care residents receive."

COMS Interactive is the post-acute industry leader in managing clinical risk by driving best in class clinical outcomes through its internet based Software as a Service (SaaS) product suite, Daylight IQ.

A point-of-care clinical decision support tool, Daylight IQ helps standardize care and documentation, proactively manage chronic diseases and identify changes in patient condition which results in improved clinical outcomes.

COMS Interactive executive chairman Frederick Croft said: "INTERACT’s commitment to improving clinical care is perfectly aligned with COMS’ focus on disease care management.

"The integration of our product offerings provides a significantly advanced clinical solution for care teams throughout the continuum."
