Complete Genomics exhibits its new sequencing system at European Human Genetics Conference

Australian health services provider Mater Health Services and Netherlands-based Radboud University Medical Center have decided to use Complete Genomics’ new fully integrated Revolocity sequencing system.

The company is exhibiting the new supersequencer at the European Human Genetics Conference in Glasgow, which is being held from 6 to 9 June.

The company has integrated its NGS technology and operational knowledge into the Revolocity system, which is claimed to be the first truly integrated high-capacity sequencing system for laboratories.

Complete Genomics CEO Dr Clifford Reid said: "Mater Health Services and Radboudumc are regarded as being at the forefront of introducing personalized medicine through improved diagnostics and therapeutics in Australia and Europe."

Revolocity has been designed to deliver 10,000 whole genome sequences (WGS) a year and plans to expand it to deliver 30,000 WGS per year.

The system, which also supports whole exome sequencing (WES), is said to automate DNA purification from different starting materials, including whole human blood and saliva.

These samples will be processed seamlessly through the library preparation, sequencing, and data analysis phases. The system offers high-confidence data on small variants such as SNPs, insertions, deletions, block substitutions as well as CNVs and structural variants.
